Sooner or later most of us build a crosscut sled for our TS. (Photo 2) But, the sled is not exactly compact or petite, so how to store it becomes THE question. My solution was to design a holder between exposed floor joists in my basement workshop. (Photo 1)
As can be seen in pictures, the basic holder is a platform (Photo 3) with two fixed cleats at one end (Photo 6) and two rotating cleats at the opposite end (Photos 4 & 5). The rotating cleats are on 3/8” bolts that pass through a 2×4 and are held up with springs on top of the 2×4 and held in place by a fender washer and lock nut. If one wonders how well this works, I would hasten to add that this system has served me well for the past 15-years without any problem whatsoever. The top of the holder houses dowel stock.
